CUB - compact utility bore

The Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) market has grown rapidly with huge emphasis on size. Larger equipment is needed to be more productive and to provide faster installations on greater depths and distances than ever before.

What has seen no development in the past 15 years is equipment being developed for the small to medium underground construction market. There are no real options to install utilities trenchless if not fully accessible with a large direction drilling unit measuring from 16 ft long to 20 ft long as the standard units available. It is very restrictive in its footprint specifics and working conditions.

Drill SUB had to resort to using directional drilling rigs on small and medium projects with little or no access and realized the potential to introduce to the market a: Compact Utility Bore = CUB. CUB is the answer to two specific market needs in the directional market. Firstly, the ability to be compact and still deliver fast and sizeable installation and secondly, to be affordable for the small to medium construction market.

CUB is best suited for installation of utilities from 1" to 10" diameter

• CUB total frame length is only 6 ft long

• Installations up to 300 ft drives

• Small setup and footprint, can work indoors and in very constricted areas

• Dual directional: horizontal – pit launched installation and directional installations

• 2 man crew

• 1 truck and trailer footprint
